Marco Delmar - Producer/Engineer
Marco's foray into the music business started as a guitar player for international recording artists The Elektrics, a New York-based power-pop punk band signed to the Capitol Label. After 4 years, numerous tours, 4 singles and 2 full length albums, he decided to turn his attention full time to producing. He learned his production chops working with English producers Peter Ker and Steve Priest (Sweet), as well as Tony Bongiovi (Talking Heads, Star Wars), Ron Freeman (The GoGo's) and Neil Dorfsman (Bruce Springsteen, Sting). This experience led him to move to Washington DC area to take advantage of the fertile music scene and the great working climate. In the last 23 years Marco has also produced and engineered projects at numerous area studios such as BIAS, Avalon, Inner Ear, and many other top recording studios in the Washington DC area before starting his own studio called Recording Arts with Mike Ivey (Basehead). Marco has garnered a client base that includes emmet swimming (Epic), Basehead (Imago BMG), Lisa Moscatiello, Janine Wilson, Patty Reese, Margot MacDonald, Esmirelda and the Tidbits, Jennifer on Sunday, Cletus Kennelly, and many other national, local and regional acts. Many of Marco's clients are WAMA award winners, and his CD's have won over a dozen Album Of The Year and Recording awards over the years. Marco has been voted Producer of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) for the past twelve years, and been nominated for Studio Engineer of the Year for the past nine years. Recording Arts was awarded Studio Of The Year in 2004.
Antonio Pacheco - Engineer
Antonio joined Recording Arts in 2002, just after he graduated from Full Sail with a degree in Audio Engineering. Antonio combines the techniques of the analog masters with the savvy of computer technology in the digital realm. His technical skills are held to such acclaim that he has been quoted in an article in the Washington Post and has been nominated Engineer of the Year by WAMA for the past four years. He is noted for the limitless possibilities that he creates while in the recording studio. He has also mastered projects for emmet swimming, Esmirelda, Nikki Rouse, Mike Grebb and many other local and regional musicians.
Michael Ivey - Producer/Arranger/Songwriter
Michael is a Producer/Arranger/Songwriter for the band Basehead (Imago/BMG International Records/Koch) and byob (13records/Rykodisc). His project has received rave reviews in Rolling Stone, the highest rating and top ten album of the year from Spin and numerous other favorable reviews in national, regional, and local publications. He wrote music for the French film J'ai pas Sommell (I'm Not Sleepy) which was directed by Claire Denis and won an award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Alan Stewart - Music Business Consultant
Alan Stewart is a Senior Manager at Magus Entertainment in New York City and is currently working with Duran Duran, Daniel Bedingfield, Fischerspooner, Lez Zeppelin, Alice Smith, Trustfall, Carina Round, Ferry Corsten and several high profile Producers. Alan has been a full time Manager since 1993 and previously ran his own management firm and indie record label. He began his career as the manager for emmet swimming (who released three records on Epic/Sony) and Basehead (who released three critically acclaimed records on Imago). He also spent two years in Nashville working with the Charlie Daniels Band and the Corlew Music Group/Windswept Pacific Music Publishing. Since 1995 Alan has been a partner and music business consultant for Recording Arts.
Stephanie Milne - Engineer
Stephanie started at Recording Arts in 2003 while earning a B.S. in Audio Technology at American University in Washington, DC. At school, she completed many projects including Dime-A-Dozen (a school a capella group), Harrison (a local university rock band), and working with Philadelphia producer Mark Sarisky to record tracks for recent WAMA nominee, Stella Mira, on their first full length album. Since graduating, she has worked with many of the bands that have come through Recording Arts' doors doing tracking and mixing on everything from gospel and country to hip-hop, rock, and jazz. Having an outgoing personality and a love for all things musical gives her a special talent for being able to work with any artist to capture their unique sound.
Ken Barnum - Producer/Engineer
Ken Barnum has been working in sound since 1995, starting by running live sound for his band. He attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music (specializing in Recording and Engineering). Since then, Ken has toured with his former band, 33 West and produced, mixed, and engineered several projects for bands including 33 West, Crash Boom Bang, One Third Dork and More.
Megan Kutsko - Engineer
Megan Kutsko has been working at Recording Arts since March 2010. She graduated from The University of Massachusetts - Lowell in 2009 with a B.A. in Music with a concentration in Sound Recording Technology. She has experience in live sound and studio recording in many genres, including hip hop, rock, pop, classical, and jazz. Since graduating she has engineered on many projects including Treading Lemmings, Lynn Veronneau Trio, Blue Hippopotamus, and many others.
